Ardupilot finally seems to be working properly (running 2.5.02), achieved lock, telemetry output looks good.  However, the radio (Spektrum DX6i 2.4GHz / AR6200) inputs don't seem to have any effect.  I have soldered the leads as specified in the diagrams and when the servos are connected directly to the reciever, they respond as they usually would.

The mode switch does not trigger any lights, nor result in any messages in the telemetry.  Does anyone here have experience flying this setup that can chime in with what stupid mistake I am making?

Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe you're plugging in your cables backwards? A photo of your setup would help...
Here is the board minus the shield so you can more clearly see in spite of terrible cell phone pics.

Here are the connections if you can't clearly see them.

Reciever Input & Outputs:

Powered via rudder input through an extension cable to batt.
Gear -> CTRL
Elev -> Input 2
Aile -> Input 1
Thro -> Input 3

Ardupilot Outputs:

Output 1 -> Aile (no servo connected)
Output 2 -> Elev (servo connected)
Output 3 -> Throttle (no ESC attached)

AP is powering up fine, gets GPS lock, but the radio is not causing movement in the elevator servo? Radio type is set to 0 in code.

#define RADIO_TYPE 0 // 0 = sequential PWM pulses(Fasst, Spektrums), 1 = simultaneous PWM pulses (Corona RP8D1)

Any ideas?
As expected, the cables are backwards. Ground (black/brown) should be on the outside.
Thanks... will reverse and try again.
