I received my 3DR kit yesterday and began assembly this morning. I noticed that there are differences between the PDB I recieved and the one pictured in the 3dr instructions. The new board has no motor indicators and the positive and negative side seem reversed.
I started soldering mine exactly like the photo shows on pg 1 but as you get to pg 3 the nomeclature seems to have changed
See Pics and please advise.

Permalink Reply by Kevin Mahler on December 31, 2011 at 3:26am That's odd. I received my kit on Dec 27th and mine looks nothing like yours. While my PDB is different than the picture in the instructions, it's clearly marked. I have run into some other issues with discrepancies from the documentation though. Just not with the PDB.

I got the same PDB as you. The way I interpreted the instructions is the you start with the 2-pin harness and solder it the the corresponding +ve and -ve terminals of which ever motor you like. This will then be your motor 1. You then get your 4-pin harness and start by soldering the orange cable in the "S" hole on motor 1. Then you just copy the sequence shown in the picture.
I don't think it's too much of a problem that the holes are in different positions to the PDB they show in the picture because the circuit still does the exact same thing (I think :) )
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply Chris. I figured it shouldn't make a difference but its nice to know someone else had the same issue.
Happy New Year!
