Hey all,

just received the new Ardupilot Shield V2. Just looked around a bit on the site and didn't find any schematic of it. Will this become available soon?

Ciao,

Is there any specific reason? The eagle files for the Ardupilot are posted, for which this is a shield board. Anywhoo, thanks for replying - I've been lazy, I'll just take out the half hour and make the library parts I need :)
I am really concerned by this lack of transparency with the PCB files. This makes me wonder if this is a true open source project or a kit retailer operating under the guise of one. How do you expect the community to contribute usefully to the hardware design if the boards aren't public? If you are trying to stop people from competing in selling the kits, I really doubt the barrier between the PDF schematic and eagle board files is stopping anyone. Also if the board files are derived from the Arduino reference design board files--IANAL but I think you are required to release any modified/derived .brd files and not just the schematics.
The community is hard at work on the hardware designs (using Eagle files) in our Huddle workspace groups. If you want to join one of those groups, you just have to ask.

The Arduino reference designs are distributed under a Creative Commons licence, as are ours. Our are not based on their Eagle files, as you can see, but just on the schematics. Can you please link to the page where is says that derivative designs must be published with Eagle files?
