I did scan through other messages but didn't find a specific answer; I want to know if there is a kit that includes all of the electronics involved in a GPS connected autopilot. So that if I went out and purchased a ready to fly aircraft sufficent to the task, I would need nothing further to assemble the aircraft. So I guess it would need X,Y, Z accelerometers, pitot system, barometer for altitude, cables and whatever else I might need.
I have seen that I can get this part here and that part there, but I'm never sure, being a newbie, what all I need to purchase. I admit some confusion by terminology as I read the getting started and other articles. It gives me the fear that I would end up missing something.
So, does a complete kit exist, or if I did detect that the list of materials in Getting Started did leave out a few things. Here is the whole point to what I am doing. I'm handicapped and use R/C aviation to fill some of my time. But I have gotten a bit bored with flying circules --even though I can loop and roll and all of that. I already have a UAV that I bought online and I thin it might make a good platform, maybe someone can tell me if it's okay or if something else would be better. It's a UAV I bought online.
Besides the Predator, I also have a Warthog which might be suitable as well. The UAV has a 38" wingspan and the Warthog is 26 inches.
So, question 1 is there aen electronics kit and number two is whether one of these would be suitable for a beginner to auto[pilots.
Thanks for any replies, and my apoligies if a kit exists and I simply haven't run into it.

Hi Bob,
I would recommend reading this & this; I would recommend the ArduPilot Mega autopilot. There is not a "kit", but you will need to buy the basic parts, which will be an Oilpan, ArduPilot Mega and a MediaTek GPS unit. You can add air speed and telemetry later on.
I would also say to start with an Easy Star plane is a good option as they are very strong and easy to fly, it means you can have a few training "moments" and the plane can be fixed with little more than some glue and tape!
Regards,
Martin.
