Futaba 8FG alternative controls settings

I found that using traditional throttle control for modes with altitude hold is not convinient for me. For example I want to fly with alt hold at 2 meters, but without sonar. Sonar doesn't work for me now because of low temp (-12C) or maybe snow absorbs sound very good, I'm planning check it. In my room sonar works, but room is too small to fly :) So, I'm using only baro, and altitude slowly drifts with pressure drift, and I need to correct it. But after each correction I need to search deadzone by throttle stick, wich became very narrow in 2.9.

I'm using now alternative control settings. Throttle stick now centered like pitch (named "Altitude" on the image), so to hold current altitude I need to simply release "Altitude" stick. But for manual throttle modes I need another control, I have selected "LD". Both controls mixed to CH3 and limited to -100%...+100%.

Here is instructions for Futaba 8FG:

1. Open radio and remove panel to have both sticks centered.

2. FUNCTION menu: CH3 THR -> LD

(I have also disabled all trimmers)

3. END POINT menu: set travel and end point for THR to -100%...+100%

5. Check result with SERVO display

  • Hello,

    sorry to reopen this Anton.  I hope you receive this response.

    I am trying to setup a GRAUPNER MX-20 for stable flight and ALTITUDE control for a PX4FMU v1

    the receiver is a GRAUPNER GR-16.  At the current time, the quad (frame DJI F450) seems to drift quite a bit.  Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

    Pete

  • I have tested this today, very nice! In stabilize mode it's very easy maintain desired altitude. If somebody need detail I can explain how to set it up.
