Hi folks,
When flying my quad in stabilize mode, while hovering or moving slowly, the heading direction keeps changing by few degrees left and back, without touching the yaw. It seems to be some kind of interference with the compass (it's onboard 2.5 compass) but I cannot tell for sure, can anybody confirm that?
Another possibility I can think of is a small variation in the transmitter stick leading to that, is it possible?
I'll do a flight with logs on today to gather some additional information.

If you are open to modifying your layout, I'd put the battery under the lower layer (assuming it is a PDB), and then put the quadESC module in the middle between the top and lower plates. If your ESC drive wiring is long enough, the extra separation might help.

Thanks for the hint, I agree that the ESC should be away from the APM board. I'm ordering a new frame with more space to separate the components.
You initial theory regarding the interference is quite possible and well documented.
A photo of your layout would be helpful.
In general, try to move the APM as far away from conductors (wires) that carry larger currents.
The M field around these wires will certainly affect the magnetometer on the APM.
