Hi Guys,
I wondered if there was any information about that I could use to approximate airframe weight?
I was thinking that if you knew the total weight of the UAV its endurance and speed you could extrapolate the information?
Airframe weight 5 Kg
speed 40m/s
endurance 1 hr
battery size?
payload?
I am just looking for a rough estimate to see how airframe weight/payload/battery weight interact.
thanks
Ollie

Not sure on the battery sizing though, but looking again at similar UAVs might give you an idea of it.
I’m not going to post the equations here (due to IP rights), but the book is cheap enough and I know there are copies of it floating about on the internet – but I’ll leave the moral choice of if you want to buy it up to you.
Season Two of the Trust Time Trial (T3) Contest has now begun. The third round was a reliablilty/aerial photography round for both planes and copters, which is now closed. Stay tuned for the next round, beginning soon.19 members
