Hello

I enjoy my photography, and am quite pleased with the results I get from the punter kit that I possess.  I don't have anything expensive for two reasons, the first being that I don't have a lot of spare cash and the second is that She Who Must Be Obeyed would chop my nadger's off if I went off the deep end and spent a fortune on kit.

I also do a fair bit of walking and climbing and I'd like to combine the whole lot with some Ariel photography and videoing.  This has given me the idea of building a quad that would be able to film my exploits.

I fully realise that to build a first time quad, that can shoot video footage, is a big thing to ask and is more likely to end in frustration than my original aspirations.  So, with this in mind, I'd like to start small and work my way up from there.

I would very much appreciate any help or guidance and most importantly, a parts list to create a small, simple and cheap quad-copter so that I can learn the basics.

If at all possible, I'd appreciate suggestions of kit that I can use in this project which can then be transferred to more grand and complex creations which will ultimately take a camera to allow me to film stuff.  I have no desire to launch my dSLR into the skys but I'd be happy sending my Canon S90 or even a GoPro up in the air and as such that's as big as I want my new toy to eventually become.

For now I just want to make a cheap and cheerful quad that will fly and give me some fun to make.

I do posess a Raspberry Pi which is being used as a Media Centre for the TV, but if this is straight forward to use then I'd appreciate some advice.  I have no programming skills beyond writing Basic as a kid in the early 80s.

I'd like to point out that I have bought a Hubsan H107C off Amazon but this will take a while to arrive from Hong Kong.  My plans are to learn the basics of flight with this toy.

Cheers
