I was viewing RCgroups UAV pages and came across this statement:"Beamer, I suggest putting the IR on the bottom or else your pitch trim will change as the sun heats your wing."I've experienced pitch trim changes that I couldn't account for and this may be the cause.Has anyone ever heard of this or had experience with putting the XY IR sensors on the bottom of their plane?

That is funny I was having the same discussion a few weeks a go with my pilot. I know there are some people who have placed the IR sensor on the bottom. I have a related question why is the FMA sensor BLACK? and not white? Black absorbs more heat.
