IR sensors affecting pitch trim.

I was viewing RCgroups UAV pages and came across this statement:"Beamer, I suggest putting the IR on the bottom or else your pitch trim will change as the sun heats your wing."I've experienced pitch trim changes that I couldn't account for and this may be the cause.Has anyone ever heard of this or had experience with putting the XY IR sensors on the bottom of their plane?

  • That is funny I was having the same discussion a few weeks a go with my pilot. I know there are some people who have placed the IR sensor on the bottom. I have a related question why is the FMA sensor BLACK? and not white? Black absorbs more heat.

Hmm. That's a new one for me. FMA recommends they go on the top.
