I only have this: FTDI Basic Breakout - 3.3V (http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9873) NOT the cable
My new GPS's have arrived and I would like to test them and seeing as I'm using on ArduPilot I want to flash the v1.4 firmware as well.
I have connected an external 5V supply to the pads marked 5V and GND on the GPS
RXI on the FTDI to OUT on the GPS
TX0 on the FTDI to IN on the GPS
Blue LED is flashing 1sec on 1 sec off until it locks with solid blue!
MiniGPS shows nothing, Query shows nothing, no NMEA data in Setup tab.
Powerflash fails with "BROM_CMD_START_FAIL"
So is it the FTDI board?

I now have the right FTDI cable but cannot get the new GPS's to take the selected firmware.
Voltage on Vcc is 3.3V
I'm getting date/time and NMEA-like data in the setup tab of Minigps 1.41
Powerflash fails with "BROM_CMD_START_FAIL"
I need to go back to the default firmware, Why is this not working?
