Permalink Reply by bGatti on January 8, 2011 at 10:03am @Chris, one just adds 2 large solder pads, then cut one battery cable in half and connect both cut ends to the two pads. Current is measured in serial.
The current trace is fully isolated - so one doesn't worry much about how it relates to the rest of the power handling.
btw, if one calibrates current to frequency, one should be able to estimate airspeed - without an Airspeed sensor - or as a backup to same (the number of commercial accidents involving failed airspeed is remarkable)
