I know their is a Ardupilot Mega in development and the Ardupilot is low cost fun but why hasnt an ARM7 been introduced as a solution?

Cost? Adaptibility? Next-next-gen? Coding?

I would have thought with the extra beef the Ardupilot would have been $10 more but 100x more potential (speed and extras wise).

If I've mentioned a secret development I'm sorry I'm just curious as I could use laser triangulation to do automated landings. The math is simple and very accurate, it took me a weekend to VB.net a 3D scanner (only to find out other had done already :( ) from a laser pen, cocktail stick, webcam and some meccano.

Ritchie, as you may have noticed these autopilots are based on the Arduino platform. Arduino is currently based on the Atmel line. If and when the Arduino project adopts ARM7, we will, too.
Ok I wondered if you were tempted by the power f the little things. Its nice to see you are staying true to the platform and developing your skills (and many others like me) rather than upgrade hardware (uncommon these days). I hope I can provide help to the community
