Hey guys, thanks again for all the help I've recieved during the first stages of my first drone build!!!

So I have  a question today:

How far away can my MX fly from me without dropping out of radio range with the standard equipment that it came with?

I was flying at a field a few days ago...and the thought sprung into my head and I wish I had asked this question before!! There are alot of videos on Youtube that show EZ's out past a mile....so I'm just wondering.

Thanks again!

What RC equipment did it come with?
Ah. That's a standard 72Mhz radio. Depending on how much interference there is, you should get at least half a mile.
Chris D, usually people stick the antenna wire under or over the belly, in this case if you stretch and stick it over one of the wings , you might better range. over or under the belly and flying away/in will offers lowest possible antenna on the receiver profile IMHO. 72 Mhz rx antenna wire is long enough for some airframes for Z bend, just make sure you don't strain them or fold back on it self. I am not sure if you have fail safe in your Tx which might give some peace of mind. In any case , like Chris A said , you should get around 1/2 to 2 K.M depending on quality of
1. Antenna orientation ( both Tx and Rx), don't point Tx antenna( like torch) towards the model while it is flying away, say your model is flying away towards north , then you /your antenna should face east.
2. quality of battery in Tx and Rx
3. ambient Rf noise in your area.
good Luck
