I have two nearly identical Quadrotors. Both are controlled by the APM 2.5 and both have the same 3DR Radio telemetry device (915 Mhz). Is there a way to connect both Quadrotors to the Mission Planner (using two separate computers or even a single computer) separately and fly them at the same time?

I tried experimenting with it a little and found out that if both Quadrotors are powered on, the Mission Planner connects to both at the same time and gives mixed data from both of the APM boards. While it is connected, if I turn one Quadrotor off, I start receiving better data. Secondly, If I turn on one Quadrotor, connect to it using Mission Planner and then turn on the other Quadrotor, Mission planner on the second computer can't connect to any Quadrotor. And the previously connected Mission Planner starts receiving bad data again.

  • I was able to solve the problem in Mission Planner. First, connect to the correct APM board using the 3DR Radio telemetry and then disconnect. Then go to Hardware>Optional Hardware>3DR Radio and click Load Settings. Then change the Net ID. Give each 3DR Radio Telemetry device a different net ID.
