The Australian UAV Challenge – Outback Rescue 2012/13

The Australian UAV Challenge – Outback Rescue 2012   ~>  2011 Rule Book

The Search and Rescue Challenge 2011/12 will be held in Kingaroy, Queensland Australia in October 2012

Winning Team in this category will receive AU$50,000*

I have missed registration for the 2011/12

But anyone is interested in competing or help me put a Australian / International Team together to compete 2012/13, please reply, message me or email shamey@iflyrc.com.au

I am looking attending the event as a spectator for 2011/12.

I have been working on the Uavionics Droidworx ADX~4 X8 project since July for preparation to compete in 2012/13 event and is coming together nicely with 2 x Turnigy 6000mah nano tech batteries, hexa power DB supplying power to, 30amp ESC, 8 x ,jDrones 850Kv motors + 10x45 props, Spektrum DX6I controller, DIY Drones ArduPilot Mega with ArduPilot Mega IMU board, GPS & 2.4GHz XBee Telemetry / 5.8GHz video and it will time to test fly.

This craft has a light weight camera pay~load to give way to add two or three battery setups, my goal is to test a variety of battery sizes / combo's that will achieve 20 - 30+ minutes flight time averages, for preparation to build new Droidworx CX Y6 & X4 Co-Axial UAV's. For competing next years event.

In the mean time, I would like to thank the DIY Drones community / members, my friends, Peter @ Grow Logic, Rob & Linda @ Droidworx and Jani & his team @ jDrones and any one I missed for sharing info and knowledge to bring this project to reality.

I am interested if anyone has a Arducopter config setup for a X8 Co-axial X flight setup?

Or any input/direction would be much appreciated to get this project off the ground and competing next year.

Keep you posted from Down Under.

Cheers,

Scotte~Uavionics AUS
