Can you describe in further detail what you mean by 'Custom Hardware'?

I may be able to give you some input on the hardware side, but im not much good at hacking software written by others although i can write my own in some languages.

A good friend of mine has been working on a project in South America with a Brazilian company, I think their name is AAT. They have helped him with all aspects of his project, including the customization of his interface. He has had good experience with them and has recommended them highly.
