Xplane 10 and APM Planner GPS issue - APM2

Hello,

I've got an issue with the Xplane connection to the Mission Planner.

Xplane runs fine, and I can control the aircraft in manual mode from my 35mhz Futaba T9CAP and R149DP RX, fly around, take off, land. However, It seems the GPS Data is not being passed back to Mission planner.

APM Planner: 1.1.71

X Plane: 10.03r2

The Coordinates move in the Simulation window above when I drive the plane along the runway..

Screenshot of the Flight Data screen in Missionplanner - Saying no GPS.

Picture of hardware setup, i have double checked this and all is connected up properly, jumper is on correct etc.

I have setup the Xplane settings > Data input and output as in the screenshot...

Ensured my IP address is correct in xplane, 127.0.0.1

Checked the Xplane 10 checkbox,

But it still doesn't want to work! I wouldn't normally ask for help, but ive been tearing my hair out over this one! Tried to provide as much info as possible above... Please let me know what it could be!

on a sidenote, should the servos move when in HIL mode?

  • It seems that I got the same problem: Simulation with the latest MissionPlanner version and firmware works fine with X-Plane 9.7, but fails with X-Plane 10. Communication links work in both directions, but the data received by the MissionPlanner are corrupted depending on the 'Xplane 10' checkbox setting:

    Checkbox 'Xplane 10' checked:

    • the FlightData display is frozen, no GPS, mode display is correct and updates according to the RC setting
    • the 'Plane IMU' and 'Plane GPS' data shown in the 'Simulation' screen seem to be correct

    Checkbox 'Xplane 10' unchecked:

    • the FlightData display updates and shows the correct GPS data
    • the 'Plane IMU' data shown in the 'Simulation' screen shows invalid values

    I have the following setup:

    • X-Plane: MacOS X 10.7.3 on a MacBook Pro
    • MissionPlanner 1.1.73: Win 7 (64bit) on a PC
    • ArduPilot HIL Simulator firmware on APM 2.0

I tried a lot with different settings but failed to get it working with X-Plane 10.

  • Okay - I think that Xplane 10 does not work with the APM Planne. I have been trying for 2 days! Has anyone gpot it working?!

If i uncheck the xplane 10 box, the gps coords come through, and i get no Artifical horizon data i nthe mission planner. But if I check the box, the GPS does not come through, and the artificial horizon sort of works!

Does anyone have any experience with HIL Xplane 10?!

    R
