Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

I got into the hobby because a friend and me started to build a Quadrocopter controlled by a Raspberry Pi and a KKBoard 2.1.5

Joel J. replied to Jon Shemitz's discussion "Asymmetric hex" design idea
"Ok, I got your idea now.
But for this kind of setup you will need custom firmware.
But I still think, that if you are using only three props, you will need to make them be able to move.
Otherwise, it wont work properly/you will always need to do…"

Joel J. replied to Jon Shemitz's discussion "Asymmetric hex" design idea
""Asymmetric hex"
ok, to be honest, that is even symmetric in some way.
But jokes aside, I still think there is no fitting firmware, that would be able to handle that thing.
The bigger props will always push more with a quad or tri firmware.
But to…"

Joel J. replied to Jon Shemitz's discussion "Asymmetric hex" design idea
"To be honest, some drawing would make it easier to understand.
If this is, what you mean, there is a problem, that the big props will push more,if you use a standard firmware.
Of course,it depends on the direction you are flying, but I don't think,…"

Joel J. replied to Julian Josephs's discussion First quad build. Please give feedback.
"It's basically not necessary to order either the green or the black ones.
Just buy either one or the other.
You just need to look out that one pair is clockwise and the other one is counterclockwise.
There should most likely be a CCW and a CW on the…"

Joel J. replied to Julian Josephs's discussion First quad build. Please give feedback.
"It should be pretty much the same, you just buy 2 more rotors and 2 more motor/controller combos.
And of course you need a frame that can fit a hexacopter.
But it's just expanding all the things you bought, and then adding 2 more pieces for…"

Joel J. replied to Julian Josephs's discussion First quad build. Please give feedback.
"As far as I see it you didn't miss anything but you will need a XT60 charger cable and an power distribution board.
Otherwise you won't get all speedcontrollers running off of an 3s LiPo.
You can either use Power Distribution Board or this Power…"

Joel J. replied to Karan Chawla's discussion Selecting Prop,Motor and Gearbox for Solar UAV
"Theoretically what you did is true, but what I discovered when I built a prototype of mine was, that you will never have constant power on your solar cells.
Also I don't think, that 1/4 would fit your plane, even if it seems to be…"
