Stefan commented on Yusuf Pirgali's blog post Gimbles seem to be falling in price, this including controller $69 !
"This gimbal uses the BLGC software. I have one of these and cannot recomment it because:- Balance is really bad. As pictured the balance is way off. - Heavy- cheap bearring motor's so backlash from the startPrice is quite nice indeed"

Stefan commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Lifeguard drone goes from concept to prototype
"I undesrtand. About the release mechanism. I could make a quick (springloaded) release in 1 hour that would deploy when you'd drop the inflatable lifevest. Somewhat similar to a "pin" in an handgrenate. And this pin is then connected by a wire to…"

Stefan commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Lifeguard drone goes from concept to prototype
"Like the idea.... But why not inflatable lifevests/rings? I mean the ones with a co2 cardridge for a fast fill. That should result in one of the following options: Smaller multicopter, Longer flighttimes, more lifevests as cargo"

Stefan commented on Quadzimodo's blog post Scale CAD models of APM & FPV related hardware
"Thank you for the explanation. This works just fine, but a "solidworks model or assembly" offers more flexibility thats why I asked. "

Stefan commented on Quadzimodo's blog post Scale CAD models of APM & FPV related hardware
"Really nice, that will help a lot of us! What program did you use to draw these models? do you have solidworks files perhapse? That makes it a bit more dynamic to changes. when using it."

Stefan commented on Gary Mortimer's blog post We are not worthy
"I get a warm fuzzy feeling while watching these "making of" video's. Is there something wrong with me? I agree with you Pete, to bad he uses this much CGI, is not needed in my opinion if you look at what they accomplish with thesesmall quadcopters."

Stefan commented on AKRCGUY's blog post "Drone Strike" Shame on CNN!
"And we wonder why there is so much negative promotion of our hobby? In my opinion a large amounth is caused by "the news" and other tv programs by not getting checking their stories or, in this case pictures."

"Completely agree with Joe on that. Allready assembling a groundstation in my mind using these type of analog gauges. That should be awesome! On the project. What fase is it? I mean: "just an idea" , somewhere in the programming fase, first working…"

"As an addition to my previous post, ofcourse not a full cockpit, but some "analog" gauges for airspeed, altitute and attitude could be usefull. "

Stefan commented on Luke Nyhof's blog post 3D Printed QuickFit centre mount for Hexa
"I would do what Team222badbrad said. Installing the esc's in the booms/ under the motor's makes it more complicated, not really necessary. Besides that, long battery-esc leads are bad for the ESC. "

Stefan commented on Luke Nyhof's blog post 3D Printed QuickFit centre mount for Hexa
"That looks good! But do you not need 3 poles on the connection instead of 2?"

Stefan commented on Simon Wunderlin's blog post Interactive Checklists (Proposal)
"My compliments on the idea. Just a checklist is a pretty simple thing to accomplish. Making it interactive with the sensors a bit less simple but should be feasible with some teamwork here."
