"Hardware MUXs are rarely *necessary* (we certainly could have done it code with Arduino), but they're a good safety measure in experimental autopilots. If your code crashes or gets stuck in a loop, you always want to be able to regain control.…"

"1) uBlox is well worth the extra money, if only for the 4x data rate. 2) Thermopiles are 10x easier to code, but are bulky and have some limits (fog, etc) 3) No 4) Not for a basic autopilot."

I'm working on an autopilot for Propeller (I realize this has already been done, but I want a custom system), and I have a few questions.1) What advantages make the uBlox worth it's price? Should I get a uBlox or an EM406 to start with?2) Would it be easier to do an IMU with DCM, or should I use thermopiles?3) Do I really need a compass?4) Do I really need a pressure sensor?-AdamSee More

""We're implemented the DCM (same or better IMU performance, but easier processing) instead, and will be announcing details this week." When will you guys be releasing details about the DCM? You posted that info on August 31st...…"

"You don't need a video overlay IC when using the propeller. It can do NTSC, PAL, and VGA out. Dedicate a cog to doing overlay, then combine the camera feed with output from the Prop."
