Angus Peart commented on Hai Tran's blog post 'I hope the US doesn't follow Australis lead in UAS/UAV regulation'
The BVLOS case for FPV has hardly anything to do with aircraft, as you are below airspace they are flying in anyway. It's a safety concern. What's to stop you loosing sight of a 5kg FPV aircraft which then crashes in a tree and starts a…

Angus Peart commented on Hai Tran's blog post 'I hope the US doesn't follow Australis lead in UAS/UAV regulation'
@Hai Tran: I wasn't talking about CASR 101, that regulation was created circa 2001 IIRC. I'm talking about the new, more complete regulations that are going to come into play later this year, the level 1 to 4 UA pilots licenses. Level…

I take it then that you are just speculating and haven't actually spoken with CASA. I suggest you do so before spouting false statements as fact. Having actually spoken with CASA, I can say that you will indeed be able to RPL your existing PPL.…

@Hai Tran, you realise that you will be able to RPL your current PPL when getting a UA pilots license. Don't confuse this with a OC, that's completely different.

A comment to Rana: So far I will only use analog output gyros. I've developed several small vehicles that use propellers rotating say 6000 Rpm and less. If you're running say a 50 hz autopilot you really must watch out for aliasing in…

I'm just curious, out your 12 blog posts on DIYDrones, 11 of them contain affiliate links. How much have you made so far from these affiliate links, if you don't mind sharing?

Here's a more accurate representation, it shows the continual rise of (now) hobbyking, by adding in their 2 other previous names. http://www.google.com/trends?q=tower+hobbies,+hobbyking,+hobbycity,+unitedhobbies

Affiliate links hidden behind a URL shortening service?? That's evil... @Jack, shipping shows up as $2.99 for me. Where do you live, the moon?

There is even faster better things out there, for the same cost... Arduino isn't going to move and they are pretty clear about that. If you listen to their interview on FLOSS Weekly they say this as well as re-iterate that Arduino is aimed…

If it used just the iPhone, I would say "Wow!", but requiring to have that huge box on the outside, or more to the point, any external hardware, pretty much defeats the purpose in my opinion. You might as well make a proper completely…

I'm not sure if Chris (et al) noticed, but RV are not using the normal $9 thermopiles. Their cost will be much lower. Unless the royalty is >$60USD then they are most likely paying the same royalty as everyone else is. I'm surprised…

It depends what you are doing with the slow flying electric plane. If you flying in a straight line, yes you won't see a difference, once you start doing tight circles (like flying a pattern around a small oval), you will notice the…

Apparently a world first, but I swear I saw something similar a few weeks ago.

Again though as with the ITG-3200 and the other ST gyros, this one will most likely leave much to be desired for serious UAV… Continue
