I would be careful on the Internet, you are basically documenting your crime, but as far as the actual work, I would just do what you want.  Maybe if you get caught, the CIA will give you a job.  It's now a crime in LA to throw a…

I is not ideal for aeiral photagraphy, but it could be a cool FPV view. I really enjoy the off-beat out of the box designs, making it a UAV is more so a safty feature with FBW, or Stab. Dose anyone know how to program or wire twin engines with…

This is/was a beautiful design, but there are several other Rutan platforms I have often considered more appropriate for a UAV. Twin engines that far ahead of the main pod would not seem ideal for anything involving cameras, etc., or am I…

The Pond Racer was designed by Burt Rutan. It was let down by it's engines; they didn't make the power anticipated. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scaled_Composites_Pond_Racer

Pond Racer UAV

Hello!I would like to build scaled down version of the Experimental Pond Racer.I believe it is a Swedish designed aircraft built and designed to win air races! At first glance it resembles a P-38 but much smaller. The Pond Racer is a twin engine aircraft, and im not sure how to wire that with the APM?I would like to utilize automatic flaps, ailerons, elevator, rudders, and variable power to each motor to help turn the aircraft.Im on my phone so I can't upload a pic, but try to google it?Please…See More

Beeler UAV Dev. Part 7

Posted on February 21, 2011 at 8:00am 0 Comments

I am nearing the completion of my UAV build code named "The Predecessor".

This is the drone I will be presenting in front of a panel of judges for 50% of my English grade for the year.

This is a year long research project, where I learned the principles of flight, how drones fly/work, how to design on CAD, building, and flying my original drone.

In this video I will show off my drone as it is today (90%…

Gravity Plane as UAV platform?

Posted on February 18, 2011 at 7:36pm 5 Comments

Alright, so if you watched this, and you thought what I thought then your thinking... (Helium!)
A VTOL using Helium is genius, a little complex by their description.. but the idea is simple enough to mold!
I like the fact that the engines are only running for a short time, to the the plane high enough to glide down, using very little power after the first climb!

I have received a few messages asking for a more complete blog post about my drone I've designed and am building for my High School senior project!

It took me 3 months to learn CAD, and finish designing everything about this drone, the only part I left out was the skin.. You have to fit the skin your self. I used 1mm depron foam, and over covered the whole wing, then trimmed off the excesses after pinning it to the wings,…

I have slightly modified title of your "alright Chris how about this? its a scratch built ive been dreaming of since i heard of DIY DRONES!" post to be (slightly) more concise and addressed to general DIYdrones audience. If you absolutely insist on the original post title I will change it back
