"Very cool. Quick question: I've been trying to find out what software people are using to convert a set of stills into a video as you have done above? Thanks"

"I too just had to purchase new sensor board. The XY Gyro had become unreliable. Unlike Philip i could see the fault via the APM Planner's vertical horizon ( +/- 10 degrees of pitch while the quad was stationary ) and the raw sensor values…"

Bill Noyce commented on Andrew Tridgell's blog post Two APMs, one plane
"I do like the sound of having a failover system, but in reality how many events will allow you to identify that your primary APM is misbehaving? There is obviously the situation of complete loss of data from the primary APM to the monitoring…"

"Yes i see this. It's been difficult to detect a pattern of activity which causes the crash.   I too am on a WinXP SP3 low spec laptop which could do with a little more horse power!"

"Ok, sorry i did read about that, but thought this was a different issue, becuase it was still messed up even after i did the first arming. I'll keep an eye out for a Planner update.   I'm very excited to try out all the latest code…"

"This is a temporary misalignment with the planner. We moved the gyro calibration to first Arming of the copter. In the next version this is working normally. It has no effect in normal flight. Jason"

Unusual raw sensor data when Quad is on the ground

AC 2.0.39APM Planner 1.0.48 I've been getting prepared for doing some more test flights with the latest code and i noticed with everything ready to take off the APM Planer virtual horizon was jumping around, showing upto +/- 10 degrees of pitch movement, but the quadcopter is still on the ground with no external vibration or movement. So I had a look at the APM Planner Raw Sensor Data and there appears to be gyro activity.…See More

Bill Noyce commented on Pieter van Woerkom's blog post Arduspyder (hexa)
"Great looking Hexa, beautifully minimal.   Is there any issue with having the APM sensors forward of the CoG? Did you have to customise the AC2 code?   Would you be happy to share the information about the Motors and Props, plus any idea…"

"I was concerned that my 1240 MaxSonar was not outputting clean data last night, so i loaded up the AP_RangeFinder_test.pde and via the serial data i could see that the output would be fine and then for a few samples of the test loop it would drop…"

Bill Noyce replied to Bill Noyce's discussion Non-uniform geometry of a quadcopter
"Thanks for the replies, they have been really helpful. ArdupiratesNG has the clean mixer table code which will hopefully find it's way into ACM as at this stage ACM does not have the mixer layer of abstraction.   I will build the airframe…"

Martin Seven replied to Bill Noyce's discussion Non-uniform geometry of a quadcopter
"There are similar aircraft already in the air, so it's definitely possible. All you really need to do to get it flying is adjust your mixertable and go."

bGatti replied to Bill Noyce's discussion Non-uniform geometry of a quadcopter
"Weight distort not a problem, might want to use smaller motors in the rear. I estimate that at zero loading of the rear props, the ability to respond is zero, so I would avoid significant load shifting, in addition. Longer arms will increase roll…"
