@Patrick:  Technically it's not a Predator, but an Ikhana.  The civilian version.  No idea what the difference is.

electrical connectors

I know that I can buy pre crimped picoblade wires online at a cost. But is there a good way or a replacement tool for the picoblade crimper. I cant afford $203 for one tool but 40-50 would be more in my price range if it is just as good a tool. See More

Endurance Testing.

Just wondering if anybody out there is seeing good endurance times from their uavs. I am trying to get about 20-45 minutes of flight. I know that is a long flight time at 45 minutes but it is uite reasonable as well in some competitions. I was building an electric senior telemaster and then making a longer dihedral wing foil to the extend the lift and overcome some of the drag on the smaller wing. If anyone has any thoughts about the airframe I would appreciate any responses that you can send.…See More

Actually the one I found you could buy a separate interface board. Is this what you are talking about? http://shoprmaelectronics.com/sdfcb-rsinterfaceboardforsonyfcb-ex11dandfcb-ex20d.aspx Congrats on the new job in the aerospace sector. Hope to be…

Hacking a Camcorder Image Sensor for UAV use.

Does anyone here have any experience with the sensors used inside of modern camcorders? I wouldn't mind buying and taking apart a camera for the sensor because of the reduced cost to the project and good quality sensors can be obtained for lower prices due to the rate at which these are produced. Do most sensors use a serial or SPI interface that would be easily sent into a visual processing engine or would it be better yet to just mod a HD capable USB camera but then lose most of the zoom…See More

the only bad thing is that this is scanning in only one plane while a lidar can scan in many planes at the same time. In order get any type of usefulness from this you would need a pan and sweep system. Panning about the y-axis. It is possible to…

Airframe Design - EDI from Sony Pictures' "Stealth''

Feasibility of such an airframe design?I know the next generation of fighters are called for to be quicker and more maneuverable than anything we have ever seen but how long until the hobby world can keep up? I honestly know that we are years from such an endeavor and most of our projects far lack the funding needed to undertake such a large project. But is it more money and resources or ingenuity to tackle the problems at hand. If any of you have seen this movie you understand how it can catch…See More
