Ockams Thanks.  Thru trial and error I did get mine working.  I probably did most of your suggestions.  Finally, after starting the interface between APM Planner and X-Plane, if the servo outputs are not zero, an APM reset seems to…

Hi Fred, I had the same problem a while back and my fix was, 1       Do a full reset on the APM 2:      Do the Radio Setup 3:      Make sure all RC channels have RCx_Rev…

Aruplane/X-Plane Simulation Problem

I am trying to get my Arduplane working in simulator mode (X-Plane) and am not having much success.I have a Hitec RC system; a 2.4G Optic6 Tx and an Optima7 Rx.  I have servos attached to thefour control channels.  The system is in manual modeI carefully go thru all the steps in the instructions and the results are as follows:    -the simulator software loads successfully with MP,    -the servos and the MP radio input screen shows all four channels functioning properly    -the PPM encoder LED…See More

Yup.  Sorry Dave.  I have version 9. I should have told you.  I didn't realize V10 was so much more expensive.  Makes my decision as to upgrading (not!) easy

My preference is to use a specific GPS driver and disable Dataflash logging.  I find CLI to be a useful tool in testing and checking out my APM 1280

Glad I came across thread as was starting to rip setup apart suspecting h/w issue. Same problem but fix not working for me...   Downgrade to 2.24, system good. CLI,logs, erase. Upgrade to 2.26 thro' Planner, after first reset same…

Omar,   There was an eeprom configuration change between 2.24 and 2.26, so your eeprom settings may be corrupt.  I do not remember any changes to the failsafe functionality in that period.  Recheck all your parameter values related to…

Ignore my comment re the B led.  I looked at the instructions again and B led on continuously is the correct operation

Greg and Dany Thanks to both of you.  It's interesting that my board has no R8 but yours does Dany.  Greg, I can't argue with your explanation why R8 is not needed.  I will leave it for now, at least until I have my APM set…

Hi, I have more feedbacks. I configured the modes and failsafe for 2.26  exactly the same way I did for 2.24:    1=RTL; 2=Loiter; 3 and 4= Stabilize; 5=FBW-A; 6=Manual;     Failsafe (throtle) = 1 with PWM threshold…

It's supposed to be like that. Mine is the same way. It is was a 1k resister from the PG5 to the Mux select pin on the output multiplexer. The mux select is also connected to an output on the 328 fail-safe/PPM converter chip. I think this was a…

APM missing resistor?

While troubleshooting another issue with APM, I noticed there was a pair of pads unused on the board.  One pad is connected to pin 1 (PG5) of the ATmega1280 chip. The APM  schematic shows there is a 1K resistor (R8) connected to pin 1 (the other pad connects to the MUX 1 pin of IC3).My R8 is missing.  The pads are located near the corner of the ATmega chip where pins 1 and 100 meet.  There is another resistor right beside it.Can someone tell me if your APM board includes R8?See More

Ardupilot roll functional flow diagram

Posted on July 29, 2009 at 1:59pm 7 Comments

I'm installing Ardupilot in the 6 foot wingspan electric Telemaster. As this is a significantly different airplane than the Easy Star I want to proceed slowly and carefully. If I can I am going to adjust and confirm PID settings, etc, one function (roll, climb and speed) at a time, starting with roll. I decided I needed to have a good idea how the roll software is implemented in Jordi's and Chris' marvellous software. So I embarked on developing the functional flow diagram shown here. It is… Continue
