I Heart Robotics commented on Ralph Castain's blog post ROS-ArduPilotMega Integration
"Ralph, don't get discouraged, large chunks of the necessary code are already working and I'd be happy to help answer questions you might have. Though email is easier for me.   Most of what needs to be done is figuring out how all the…"

I Heart Robotics commented on Ralph Castain's blog post ROS-ArduPilotMega Integration
"I'm pretty busy at the moment so I am not sure how much code I can contribute. Also, I don't currently have an APM and I don't know what state the MAVLink interface is at. The APM MAVLink interface should be able to use most of the…"

I Heart Robotics commented on Ralph Castain's blog post ROS-ArduPilotMega Integration
"First, I wouldn't bother with Player since most if not all of the functionality has been replaced by ROS. Second, I would suggest working on improving the MAVLink interface to connect the data to ROS. This provides a common interface for the…"

Jonathan Lussier replied to I Heart Robotics's discussion FunJET or EasyStar
"I would recommend the easystar (or skywalker) and then move up to a cheap fast if you need later (skyfun - funjet clone)."

Falke Vejlby replied to I Heart Robotics's discussion FunJET or EasyStar
"I've heard that the FunJet has more fuselage room and a lot of space for both UAV and FPV equipment. I'm likely to start such a project myself, so stick around for it :)But like Chris says, it's not for absolute beginners, you need…"

I Heart Robotics commented on Duane Brocious's blog post No Title
"Duane, Do you have references for the AMA's legal attacks on alternative organizations? Why not try to use something like kickstarter to get enough funds together to start an alternative to the AMA that has sufficient funds to deal with…"

I Heart Robotics commented on Gary Mortimer's blog post Damage tolerant flight, Rockwell Collins DARPA work
"They are using something called relay tuning for their controller design, which looks like an automated version of the Ziegler Nichols method. This paper was written by some of the team that is now at…"

I Heart Robotics commented on Robert Godlewski's blog post UAV flying in/around New York City?
"Supposedly you can fly at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens http://www.nycgovparks.org/parks/fmcp/facilities/modelaircraftfields The flying field looks really small from google maps though. The other option in NYC is Floyd Bennet…"

I Heart Robotics replied to I Heart Robotics's discussion Serial Communications Problem
"Thanks for all the help, it looks like it was the RC inputs bouncing around. It has been working flawlessly once the receiver was plugged in. Now I just need to get the rest of the HITL setup working. [647] Read 34 bytes CMD:…"

Chris Anderson replied to I Heart Robotics's discussion Serial Communications Problem
"Agree on that. You need a common ground between all these elements. I'm not even sure why you're using ArduPilot for this. Why not use a regular Arduino board if you're not using the RC or GPS elements that make ArduPilot unique?"

Chris Anderson replied to I Heart Robotics's discussion Serial Communications Problem
"Are you using our code? (2.3). If so, as Tom points out it won't work without RC inputs."

"It's kind of hard to really know from the picture...it could be number of things...is the only connection between ArduPilot board and your GPS emulator board serial connection? If so, try having common ground between two boards and see if that…"

I Heart Robotics replied to I Heart Robotics's discussion Serial Communications Problem

I Heart Robotics replied to I Heart Robotics's discussion Serial Communications Problem
