Lithium Sulfur & Lithium Air Batteries

I know that this isn't about 'props' but it is closely related.... My buddy and I have a Innov8tions Designs 650 Nm quad with cobra motors and a Quadrino board.  It's a true beast of a machine... that frame is built (maybe too built, concerned it could be dangerous in a crash)... anyway it's POWER HUNGRY.... I'm not sure what a realistic flight time would be given my configuration, but I'm thinking 5min or so with a 2500 Mah battery...and a short battery life due to hammering it for power. It…See More

Lets Talk Cameras...

Although I don't want to trivialize the many other aspects of 'drones', they are essentially flying platforms to which we intend to mount aerial cameras.   Therefore, I'd like to start talking a bit more about the camera side of the equation.  Gopros have become quite popular... I'm aware of that.  But has anyone been using other cameras they have positive results with at the same level of image/video quality?  Going a step beyond the Gopro... who's tinkering with FLIR and other 'professional'…See More

Profile Information

About Me:

Quite a bit of information about myself, my company, and my opinions can be found on the webpage.
Tell us a bit about your UAV interest
I am a private investigator and the president of a private security services company, Bulldog Investigations and Security LLC. Virginia License #11-6038

My professional background is a bit unusual for the private security and investigation industry, but
the skills aquired during employment as the former technology director of a Pennsylvania school
district have proven priceless in this field.

Instinct and old fashioned detective work remain at the
heart of Private investigation, but Internet databases and dramatic changes in photographic technologies have majorily impacted the industry.

The winds of change are blowing yet once again, both for myself as well as my profession. 'Drones'as the media tends to call them, are not just a passing fad. The world that we live in, will for better or for worse, undergo a transformation not seen since the introduction of the personal computer.

Unmanned vehicle systems will impact private industry, law enforcement, and our lives in ways we are only beginning to understand. I intend to capitalize on those opportunities. I initially joined AUVSI in 2010 with the intention of networking with robotic engineers, and other
interested parties.

On March 12, 2012, after lengthy consideration and research, a major decision was made: Bulldog Investigations is now undergoing a restructuring centered around these new approaches to age old problems. An interesting road lies ahead for those of us brave enough to
venture out into this new territory.
