Hi guys, I have been working on an Arudpilot project for quite some time now. After a lot of testing, and the odd crash landing into the snow and elements, I thought it would be a good idea to get…Continue

No, that should be fine. I'll be interested to see your boards when you send them. As I say, we've never seen problems like those.

Chris: PM sent Doug: I am powering the boards via the ESC through the wire that hooks up to throttle output. Also, when testing I sometimes have the throttle bypassed directly to the Rx, so then the power comes from the ESC wire, through the Rx,…

Jeff, Very sorry to hear about your boards. There are now more than 3,000 ArduPilot boards out there, with a good fraction of them successfully flying. The main ArduPilot board is the only aspect of the hardware we don't make (it's made…

Glitchy Hardware

Hello guys, I have been working on my Ardupilot project now for over three months, and have run into many obstacles along the way. A lot of my problems were simply due to inexperience and were solved by help from many of you here on the forum. However, it seems that I have also been plagued with glitchy hardware, and I am wondering if I am the only one out there with this issue. My IR sensors and EM-406 GPS modules seem to be fine. The problems I am having are with the Ardupilot Boards. I have…See More

Will 2.5.4 work without having auto throttle hooked up?

Hello guys, I am wondering if I can bypass the the auto-throttle and hook up the throttle output directly to my reciever to test the ardupilot? Will not having the throttle hooked up through the board make the navigation part of Ardupilot work incorrectly? Thanks,JeffSee More

If you don't connect that second wire, you'll need to use the old bind plug process at startup. I recommend you use the wire.

Okay, that is what I figured! I just went through the section of the new manual about "if you are upgrading to 2.5"... it is great to see the information evolve! I was missing the second wire on the underside of the board, but that should…

I actually don't have any use for it... I stumbled upon in because I changed one of my modes from FBW to RTL, and then I was testing it and watching the data through hyperlink. I noticed that when I switched it RTL, it immediatly witched to…

Stat light behavior changed from 2.4 to 2.5. I'll have to update that table...

Hmm. We may have busted that feature (which I believe you are the first person to ever use!) in the latest rev of the code. We could never figure out why anyone would want to do that, so we'll probably delete in in the next rev. It's safer…

Alright, that all makes sense, except that ever since I loaded the 2.5.4 I have had no stat light blinking, yet the system seems to be working???

No, only at startup and only when it's on the ground. Even if you reset the processor in the air, it won't overwrite the home position.
