Servo Question

Hello all I am writing to try to get some help with servo control.I am wanting to use the Ardupilot to control three servos as well as wirelessly send data to the ground.  I am not having trouble wirelessly telemeting data however.  Before I start I am using S3151 Futaba servos if it matters.Whenever I run the ArduPilot_SensorHead code and try to pulse the servos they behave very erratically.  From what I understand pulsing a servo (or storing a value to OCR1A) of 1900 should make the servo…See More

Jerald, I believe that V2 of the Shield board can handle a 4S Lipo. Regards, TCIII

Battery Monitoring of Voltage

Just curious. How much voltage can the battery monitor handle on the shield? Can it also handle up to 15 volts? Thanks.

Jerald, I believe that Ver 2 of the Shield boards are blue. Do they appear green to you? The Ver 1 Shield boards are red like the Ardupilot Atmega 328 boards. Regards, TCIII

Sorry I saw the "new" board here and it was green so I thought you might have made hardware changes that made it superior to the red boards. I saw that version 2 of the shields were green so I assumed it was the same for the regular…

What do you mean "old red board"? That's the current board. What board are you thinking of?

Thanks a lot Thomas. I forgot to check sparkfun. I am using the atmega 328 board though so it is no problem.

Jerald, If you are referring to the Ardupilot Atmega 168 board as the "original board", then they will never be available again as they have been phased out. Presently Sparkfun has over 100 of the present Ardupilot Atmega 328 boards and…

Board fried?

I was connecting the power for the Ardupilot on my aircraft when the power line slipped and hit the shield board and I heard a loud pop. :(Now I'm unable to communicate with the board at all. Whenever I try to download programs to the board I get the following error "avrdude: stk500_cmd(): programmer is out of sync" and if I try to see view data via the serial port I just get squares.I had everything working finally argh how frustrating!!I'm pretty sure I fried it but you don't have the…See More

Good news. I double checked on the continuity of all the lines and noticed it was breaking on the power line. The Power pin on the shield was not completely soldered. I redid it and it is outputting the expected values. Thanks for all the help!!

You've definitely got something connected wrong. Check the shield soldering?

Run this code to be sure it's not something else causing it. Such high numbers means you've got a something connected wrong. If everything were disconnected you should see about 511. Jason

I purchased the newer xy&z sensors from the store recently and I am still getting the same behaivor. There is no pink film on the lens this time and I don't see how the new ones could have been damaged as well. Everything else I have…
