My short review of an Easy star clone:Well, the Dynam Hawk Sky I order from nitroplanes.com came in a few days ago. The box came in perfect condition, with no damage whatsoever, and all parts inside…Continue

Most efficient easystar motor?

Started this discussion. Last reply by Mike Bakula Feb 27, 2010. 17 Replies

Hey guys, I'm trying to decide what motor to purchase for my new easystar. At first I was thinking outrunner because they are generally cheaper and lighter weight. However, I want to have the most…Continue

Extending range of rc and video links

Started this discussion. Last reply by Robert Palmore Mar 9, 2010. 6 Replies

I know a lot of us try to extend the range of our links with better antennas, more power, etc., but why not try to extend the range by putting our antennas up higher?(please excuse my horrible…Continue

Making ardustation antenna tracking more accurate

Started Jan 19, 2010 0 Replies

Now, I know right now no one is flying hundreds of miles away with their UAVs, but I envision the day in which UAVs are limited not by the plane's capability to traverse that distance, but the owners…Continue

I too bought a Hawk Sky from Nitroplanes. It arrived with more things wrong that I could have ever expected. I had to add on my own control horns, get my own landing gear, and supply the rudder control cable. Once all parts were together, I found…

Just been reading all of this and I agree what he achieved with basically hobby equipment was amazing, however I saw a few comments along the lines of "what harm can a foam RC model do to a real aircraft of helicopter?".  OK maybe a…

I thought cities were restricted zones. In Aus, the CASA says the same. But 400ft is barely anything. I wouldn't be content with just 400ft while doing FPV. I want to go above the clouds, and I will, because the skies around here are always…

I don't know, I fly in new zealand, I imagine so, it was a light plane and helicopter that collided in the hudson wasn't it?   I agree with you though, isn't that the way it is now? I assume uncontrolled airspace, up to a certain…

Jon, are light planes allowed to fly around NYC? Would there have been any planes around NYC to take down? IMO, you should be allowed to fly in uncontrolled airspace but be required to give way to real aircraft, because that just makes sense.

I think I get what you meant now, and they are right to be unwilling, innovation, ie TESTING of aircraft (especially remotely piloted ones) should not be done in general airspace, I'm sure any pilot, rc and fullsized can appreciate…

Your comment is so generalized I don't even know how to reply :)   Innovation is a great thing, I'm all for it.

@Jon What bugs me about full scale pilots is that they have no interest or willingness to share airspace with innovation. US Stick jocks are pushing development of next-gen flight vehicles to other countries. Israel, Australia, Mexico, New Zealand,…

The full sized pilot inside me feels what he did was pretty irresponsible, a foam plane can definitely take down a light aircraft. Taking any sized aircraft into airspace it shouldn't be in, without notifying the right people is pretty…

The future of the US economy rests in technologies which are safe enough to be used /inside/ a Commercial Jet during take-off and landing. Not on that list: 1. Kindle 2. Ipod 3. Noise-X Headphones 4. Nintendo DS 5. Windows/Linux/Apple   Good…

Cronselaar…   Everything I was thinking :) Seems so much unnecessary paranoia. The only one breaking the rules that matter to our lives is the government :) Instead we are concerned over run away foam airplanes haha

OK... I dont know if i should join in this discussion or not. These are however my views on it. 1. A foam plane, seriously, how much damage can it really cause.. 2. FAA rules, well it seems they took precausions not to fly near any fullsized…
