"Jake: The PPM Encoder as the name implies, outputs a PPM stream to the APM main chip. It is impossible to skip a channel since a standard PPM signal is a pulse train with 8 channel values, where all channels must contain a value."

Confessions of a gadget addict...

I am probably going to get hate mail for this, but a clear warning to any future addicts needs to be made. So here goes.

I was doing some spring cleaning and those darn DIY gadgets just kept on coming out of the woodwork. I knew I had a lot of stuff lying around, but this time I even surprised…

I just discovered CircuitLab, a online electronics simulator. I haven't had time to play much with it yet, but it looks very promising from what I have seen so far. Especially considering that they just launched the site.

Hei

Hi john, i am able to get PPM output from a PIN of Thomas Scherrer 12 channel receiver. is the PPM sum signal compatible with the ATmega2560 PPM decoder or i have to decode it through a interface. actually i am more of an aircraft engineer and less of a electronic engineer. the signal is coming from a Futaba 7C Tx onto a 12 channel thomas Sherrer Rx on 12 channel pin. can i give it directly to PIN 1 of APM after shortening PIN 2 &3 or i have to use an interface using PPMencoder. please help. i am currently using APM2.23. thanx, ravi

Hi john, i tried giving PPM to channel 1 PIN of APM and shortend PIN 2 & 3. did not work. I am not getting PWM out to servoes. Thomas Scherrer Rx takes PPM pulse from Futaba 7C Radio. It has a UHF RF Module which has been connected to the PPM out of Futaba 7C, this drives a 12 channel Rx also designed by Thomas Scharrer. I think the PPM pulse form futaba 7C should pass on as it is to the Thomas Scharre Rx which has a PIN for direct PPM out? what should i do next.
