They used to be used for some different types of operation/configuation.  I do not believe they are used any more.

Get rid of the connectors and hard solder the wires together. This has fixed both my AC and a brushless buggy the kids got for xmas. It will take you 30-45 mins for an AC, but it was serious peace of mind for me. JC

My kids have a couple of 1/10th scale trucks/buggys coming for xmas.  I'm sure one of them is going to wind up with some extra intelligence.

Hi I found this post of yours searching the forum for my own education on the FAA regulations. I ended up contacting him and he doesn't have a COA but he did contact the FAA and Law Enforcement near him to discuss what he was doing.

Just use a stock load of the 2.7 code, test it properly on the ground, and you'll get it to work.

What happened to 2.7?

Hello all, I had been using 2.7 on my older ardupilot, and i'm not seeing it in the Git hub. http://code.google.com/p/ardupilot/source/browse/#git It only has 2.8, which last I checked wasn't a complete build. Am I looking in the wrong place? Thanks! JCSee More

Dang, 200m is pretty far for a copter.  I'm laying it out over my site, and I can't imagine being able to see (much less orient) mine that far away.   The 200m works fine with an easystar, but it seems 150m or 100m would suffice…

That link doesn't seem to work for me, but my first guess is that you reversed your throttle on your Tx.

GPS can sit in any direction.   Have you done the GPS test in the CLI?  Does it provide accurate coordinates?   There have also been some changes to loiter recently.  You may want to review the Git repo, and see if you want to…

It's good to have big goals.  There are other places that discuss the military aspects of things.   This site is about open source hardware and software that will do amazing things with a relatively low barrier to entry.   If you…

The 120fps is cool.  I also like that they allowed it to fit in the old housing.   Not sure it's worth the $100 premium for what already is an awesome camera.

Bart - I've got 2 Remzibi OSD's and neither has had the 7805 shut down in numerous flights on Easystars and my Arudcopter. I'm also powering an Arduino Pro Mini on one of the OSD's. I'll check my current on my setup and see…

Maybe you could add a BEC to power it with only 7V? Yes, I also prefer an opensource solution..... come on Chris.... I have the money ready :)

The biggest frustration is the linear voltage regulator which, when powered from the 12v battery gets insanely hot. When it gets hot, its thermal protection kicks in, shutting off the video... which I didn't want to risk. A heatsink can be…

More FPV from a quad

Posted on October 11, 2011 at 5:00pm 10 Comments

I'm just getting all my equipment sorted out for FPV on the quad, but made some good progress today that I thought I'd share.

I got the idea for a standalone FPV pod from flitetest.  Just wanted to get things…

Successful "Twofer" Day

Posted on September 10, 2011 at 8:00pm 2 Comments

I recently picked up a dragonlink Tx and two Rx.  One for the EasyStar and one for the ACM.

Had a great maiden a couple of days ago with the DragonLink on the ACM, so I decided to hurry up and get the other Rx in the ez*.  I also knew that I always faired better with 2.4Ghz reception on the ez* than the…

FPV Tilt Camera Mount with Landing Gear

I saw one of these a few weeks back, and got to thinking...

How can I easily mount this to a stock AC without making any drastic mods, getting the CG close, and having tilt and roll stabilization possible?…

Proposing a type of configuration tracker

Posted on June 23, 2010 at 9:41pm 5 Comments

Hello All,

I've mentioned this before briefly in a couple of posts, but I'd like to pose it in a bit more formal way.

I also ride off-road motorcycles. A 2005 CRF450x to be exact. Fun bike, but it's a hobby, and there's a lot to learn and tinker with.

On my 450x community, we have a very detailed thread on people's setups. Year, mods, carb jetting, suspension settings, type of rider, weight, location,…

Hello YCT, yes, I do still have it. I took the post down, as it seemed no-one was interested.

Let me know.
