Traditional helicopters in 2.0.38?

Started Aug 1, 2011 0 Replies

Is there still an option to fly 2.0.38 on a traditional helicopter frame?  I don't see the 'heli' setup option anymore on the cli.  Nothing I see in the change log leads me to believe this has been…Continue

Barometer freak out

In ArduCopter_2.xx is the barometer still mixed with GPS altitude?  I'm asking because we are seeing huge errors in the altitude as soon as we get above sonar range. We have done two different tests,…Continue

Collective Response coming from Alt_Hold to Stabalize

Started this discussion. Last reply by John Church Jul 13, 2011. 9 Replies

We are running ARducopter_34 on a traditional heli setup.  Stabalize mode works awesome but Alt_Hold is still not working that well.  We're working through this issue, but we noticed that when we…Continue

How are people setting up thier radios when flying traditional helis using arducopter?  In the setup it says to use Airplane/Acro mode, and connect channel 3 from the receiver into the ardupilot and…Continue

"  1 meter seems the normal barometer output precision. Not as bad.   GPS precision with altitude is not very good. In the best case about 2 meters i think with active Waas correction."

Traditional helicopters in 2.0.38?

Is there still an option to fly 2.0.38 on a traditional helicopter frame?  I don't see the 'heli' setup option anymore on the cli.  Nothing I see in the change log leads me to believe this has been depreciated, but it's not working anymore.  I really want to try out the new filters on the barometer and sonar as alt_hold has been a problem.  Any thoughts?See More

Hi,
I think I have the same issue as you with the 406a. it was giving me the same garbage ( binary ) fresh out of the box.

John did you ever get your gps working? I have tried everything... I am about to return the unit. just wondering if there is any hope.

thanks!
