Truck Adaptation
I would like to use Ardupilot to control a 4WD RC ground vehicle. How to I modify the parameters and configuration to just use a GPS for navigation?

I agree with you ArduPilot only part of solution ... but it is a big part methinks. I was also thinking along similar lines .... of adding an ultrasonic sensor on the front of the vehicle to detect obstacles. The goal is still the GPS…

I have given much thought to steering an autonomous rover with the Ardupilot.

v1 of ardupilot is navigation only and should work with an RC car
