I really have no idea how to analyse the log files. This afternoon I was flying 2.5 from the git repository. It does seem to fly better than 2.4.1.Then I tried loiter and things did not go well.I am…Continue

"I would recommend not using the default way point altitude (100 m) I stupidly did not think too much when setting up my first auto flight but 100m is really high and much windier than ground level usually. My quad made it to the first way point and…"

Lloyd Breckenridge replied to Troy Mohl's discussion 3DR Frame Power Distribution Board wiring
"The color of the wires does not really matter. As long as you plug the connector in with the wire going to Motor 1 on the right hand side of your APM 1 board. The motor outputs start on the right and go from 1 to 8 if using an APM 1 Refer to this…"

Lloyd Breckenridge replied to James Dinh's discussion lowest safe voltage per cell on lipo
"It has been recommended in many previous posts that you only power the APM from a single ESC. Cut the red wire on on all but one ESC connector if you are going direct to the APM and not via the PDB. "

Lloyd Breckenridge replied to Oliver's discussion ArduPlane won't arm engine
"I will try a 20 amp ESC from my arducopter. Will take a bit of fiddling because the current ESC is wired directly to the motor and glued into the airframe. Will have to cut the wires and  re-solder to the new ESC. I was hoping for a firmware…"

Lloyd Breckenridge replied to Oliver's discussion ArduPlane won't arm engine
"It's the stock ESC (looks like DGTRUM branding hard to read) in a Hobbyking Dynam ICanFly. This is a pretty good platform for the APM although a little underpowered possibly. It's an 18 amp ESC with a 1350 KVA motor."

"Does anyone still have this problem. When the USB cable is connected the esc arms fine. Without the USB connected only get initial 3 beeps. It does not complete the initialization seqenec with the USB connected first. "

Lloyd Breckenridge replied to Jan Boermans's discussion RTL strange behaviour
"Like I said earlier I have had a lot of trouble with the mags. I have one that does something very similar. At first I thought it was a bad connection/wiring but after re-soldering all the wires it still behaves like this when there is vibration or…"

Lloyd Breckenridge replied to James Dinh's discussion Altitude of Loiter mode
"In my experience make sure you are completely comfortable controlling it in stable made before attempting loiter. Make sure that you start high enough off the ground so you have a chance to switch it out of loiter mode if things start to go…"

Lloyd Breckenridge replied to herve pellarin's discussion Use my own sensors, possible?
"From briefly looking at the code it looks like the gyros are handled by the analog to digital converter. So may not be possible to do what I want easily. "
