Motors test: X mode act as +

I'll quote a problem reportet by an user at the arducopter project page (http://code.google.com/p/arducopter/wiki/AC2_Props_2)"I'm having trouble with the motor test. I can not seem to get thing to behave as expected with either X or + configuration. The only configuration that works at all is X and the behavior I'm getting is this: up, down, left, right == nothing up-left = motor 2 up-right = motor 4 down-left = motor 3…See More

Motors test for x mode strange behaviour.

Hi there. After I set up my Arducopter I had a tilt/flip problem at take off. I followed the troubleshooting guide (calibrated the ESC and so on) but I still have the problem. I noticed that the "motors" test in CLI is not as expected. I can get only one motor to spin in test mode and only if I hold the stick up-right, down-right, down-left or up-left. the expected behaviour woul be that at lest 2 motors will spin, and then if I set the stick left, right, up, down. I tried to set to the + mode…See More

Profile Information

About Me:
Swiss geek with interests in rc helicopters. I fly rc since 1983 and I'm addicted to rc helicopters. Sadly poor time due to family duties. I grow up in the radio shack times (actually we had someting similar based in italy) and am amazed of the variety of stuff you can find...
Tell us a bit about your UAV interest
A friend of mine asked me if I can build a drone for surveillance of a bigger hunting resort in italy. I want to reproduce some drone typed the swiss army is actually using. I already programm arduino and .net boards in my profession.

Integrated FPV controller TX/RX 2.4GHz/5.8GHz

Posted on April 21, 2011 at 3:56am 11 Comments

For my FPV projects I wanted a system that is easy to install in different vehicles. I always disliked that the FPV control of PAN/TILT systems used additional channels of my primary rc tx.

So I decided to build and integrated system that works independently from the RC and/or UAV setup. It should have and own…

I published some of the images of this project already on myPage. Actually I wanted to copycat the Swiss army drone scout 95, but I changed the tail design during the build phase. I started with a Google SketchUp drawing I made, but as I changed the design it's not actualized. I used a Clark-y profile.

Yet another high altitude balloon project: Swiss-HAB-1 at 21'300m

Posted on January 22, 2011 at 11:00am 12 Comments

Inspired by the news about some HAB projects last year ("150$", iPhone4), I decided to start my own high altitude balloon project in November 2010. The goal was to take some HD video and 12MP images reaching around 30’000m resp. 100’000 feet. Finally it reached 21'300m. A real challenge was that Switzerland is a hard…
