Crashed Octo Tuning Via Ch6 Min/Max

Just getting the Oct dialed in so set a fairly narrow range on Rate P via channel 6.Started tuning down then suddenly no control and flipped over. Checking in the MP it appears Rate P had a value of Zero. Channel 6 was right down for the tuning process but seemed to ignore the min value set in the MP and went right down to zero.See More

"Also look at vibration possibility to the IMU as well as gauss interference by a wire nearby the magnetometer. Even a IMU with a close magnet can throw it off."

"The Declination is set and the compass does seem to be accurate. I've had six flights so far on this firmware but I'll put some more flights on there tomorrow and see what happens"

Helldesk replied to Mark Slater's discussion Simple Mode in the group ArduCopter User Group
"Firstly, the declination ought to be set. Then the compass has to be put through a "learning experience", one way or the other, before it can be relied on in flight. One way to do this is to make a flight where you fly around, turning this…"

Simple Mode

Tried simple mode for the first time today, It was anything but simple LOL.Take off was fine but as I rotated everything went wrong. I was just in a hover, turned left 90 degrees and expected a push forward on the stick would make it fly away from me. It moved away at about 45 degrees then became unpredictable. The compass seems to be working ok, so I presume I've got something wrongSee More
