Why do you think the FMA sensor is any harder to use? If you want a Z sensor, buy 2 X-Y sensors @ 42.95 from FMA and tip one sideways. It'll still be cheaper than the X-Y + Z here by $20-25. They ship…

Since we're all novices, I think it best to wait for a resupply of the XYZ sensors. Does anyone know when they might be available again?

You can use the FMA XY sensor and just set the config file to show you're not using a Z. It's a more complicated field setup procedure without a Z, however.

You could try the arduimu on code rev 2.5.1. More complicated and not as tested but at least you could get airborne
