My T3 Entry

Catagory: Fixed Wing- 125cm Flying Wing

Total Time: 1:40.

This is the 3rd or 4th time I've flown my wing with the APM. (And my first experience flying with the APM.) Tuning is still in progress, but I've been very impressed with the system thus far. The stock PID gains have worked…

Ground Locomotion: Crawling Quadrotors and MultiCopters

Posted on May 18, 2011 at 8:30am 2 Comments

One area of multi-rotor UAV research that has been barely scratched is ground locomotion. The definition of ground locomotion is the use of systems built into the flight vehicle to move on the ground, likely without using the flight propulsive systems. Basically, this is what you get when you combine a…

"Hmm..   I think GE has gone through two revisions since I released the original file. True, the field of view could be modified, but, at least for me, the flight model is much more aggressive and fast for roll and pitch (as an aerobatic flying…"

What manufacturer & model parachute did you use in your video "Parachute Deployment: Episode 2"?

It was a hexagonal section I cut out from a black trash bag. I think it was 1 meter edge to edge. The shroud lines were regular nylon kite string. Each of the six lines were 80 cm or so long. I used a hexagonal cardboard riser about 4 cm edge to edge to zip down the lines during deployment. If needed, I can dig it up and take pictures/measurements.
