I'm having a problem with my APM 1.4 boards. Starting yesterday, the altitude jumps up and down +/- 15 feet. The raw pressure jumps +/- 2.  All three of my 1.4 boards are doing it, but the altitude…Continue

I can't get the firmware to load on my board.  I've never used the Arduino compiler before, but I followed the directions to a 't'.  This is the message I get when I hit upload:    Error…Continue

Joystick Gimbal Control

I'm having some trouble- perhaps I'm doing something wrong?I'm trying to control a camera gimbal I made with RC channels 6 and 7 out, using a USB joystick.  I'm having some trouble with the joystick configuration. I got one axis to work by mapping the joystick X axis to channel 6, then changing RC_6_Function to 1.  That servo moves fine.  After that, the software won't let me map any more joystick axes, on any channel. See More

"How much does the aircraft pitch down? Is it just that it tends to descend, or more than that?  The camera code you mention is coming in the next rev. "

UAS Competition Team

Hi, I'm starting a team at Embry-Riddle in Arizona to go to the UAS competition in Maryland this year.  We're using APM on a custom built airframe, but we're still learning the ins and outs of Ardupilot and Mission Planner.  I've got a few questions:We're tuning the PID's, and the aircraft pitches down in stabilize and FBW A&B. Should I fix this with RC trim, one of the gains, or initialize the aircraft in a slightly pitch-up attitude? We're building a pan/tilt gimbal, and I'm wondering- if…See More

I used to fly UAV's in the army, and there were a couple of features in the GCS for the camera that I found really useful.  I was wondering how hard it would be to implement. Point at Coordinates button- when pressed, the camera stays fixed on the current stare point (very handy when mapped to a camera joystick button)Current camera location- constantly displays the coordinates of the camera stare point (extremely useful on a HUD overlay of the video) See More
