How about a simple 360 degree, or at least 180 degrees side looking optical light sensors that would provide a value of 100% on the ground, 90% 1 feet above, 80% 2 feet above etc. Similar to the old horizon sensing CoPilot system.   You would…

How about the Sharp IR sensor based detector? Or,  Hall effects sensor/magnetic sensor that detects the proximity of the earth below?

Did anyone ever get to the bottom of this error using eepe and the AVR Programmer. I am getting (almost) the very same thing. Using a Turnigy 9x V2, AVR Programer and the latest version of eepe. I plug in the avr programmer, connect to the Turnigy…

I found a mod for the uplink but I lost it on another forum I'll see if I can find it again.

I beg to differ the uplink CAN be 9600 baud burst with slower cont. rate it looks useful to me!

This looks like a great minimalist approach to telemetry for the Ardupilot and for OSD! Gets rid of the XBEE and you can use 900Mhz for the video signal get rid of some noise and it's cheaper! I'm not seeing the drawbacks here for a cheap…

Did I say that I love this site? Amazing progress since 2008...   Over 100 people in the Dev teams?  Enormous brain power.  I bet that DoD would love to have this to solve its mini-UAV challenges.

in the official frsy site there is a pdf who explain the protocol. I decoded everything and mounted my protocol over their one to send some mavlink and other data (you should modicfy the apm code, it is not good for frsky as is). bandwidth is little…

Possible useful UAV programming codes

UAV codes.pdf

I am only about 4 hours into my "self-induced" C++ tutorial course starting from "what is a programming language?" So I cannot determine with great certainty how useful the included codes in the attached project may be. I hope that it would help some of you way ahead of me in the programming department.

Would… Continue

Air Force Planning Giant Spy Airship

Posted on March 18, 2009 at 3:30am 3 Comments

From article below:

"The final version of the airship will be about 450 feet long. However, the prototype will be only a third of that size. The craft is known to military planners as ISIS, or Integrated Sensor Is the Structure, referring to the radar system built into the structure of the craft.

The ISIS has a hull made of a lightweight, thick skin. Zeppelins - like the Hindenburg - have a rigid external structure. Blimps are not rigid, and are given their shape from the… Continue
