Vernon replied to Asaak's discussion Stabilization mode not working : plane doesn't hold the altitude
"Well my issues all had to do with the airspeed sensor.  Either I was having issues with it or my min speed was too high which resulted in a pitch change to keep airspeed or the values reported from the airspeed sensor weren't working…"

Vernon replied to John Lundberg's discussion Climbrate all over the place??
"Or does it have to do with the pressure sensor/GPS giving altitude readings that jump several feet or so?"

Vernon replied to John Lundberg's discussion Climbrate all over the place??
"I too have a similar issue!  Although my VSI jumps ~ +400 to -400 while the plane is stationary on the ground.  (I'm using the Ardupilot Mega board)  The vertical speed sensor goes from ~ -3 to 2.  Sensor gone bad?"

Vernon replied to Asaak's discussion Stabilization mode not working : plane doesn't hold the altitude
"I have followed the Starting ArduPilotMega procedures and I too have the same/similar problem.  In all modes (except manual of course) I lose altitude.  "

Vernon commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Reloading the Arduino bootloader
"Hmm.  Dunno if I missed something when I was reading the information about loading the bootloader.  But apparently you CANNOT have the ftdi cable connected while burning the bootloader.  I removed the ftdi cable, connected vcc and…"

Vernon commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Reloading the Arduino bootloader
"I'm talking about Ardupilot not Ardupilot Mega.  But my guess is that doesn't really matter.  I see the port for 1AT168 and the other one 1AT45.  I believe the 1AT168 is for the 368P and the 1AT45 is for the mux (ATiny).…"

Vernon commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Reloading the Arduino bootloader
"Is the port on the Ardupilot an ISP port?  Can I burn the bootloader using a Parallel Programmer?  I totally hosed it by making the mistake and trying to load the sweep (example) sketch from the Arduino IDE.  I actually did the same…"

Vernon commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Arduino debugging tips
"http://arduino.cc/forum/index.php?topic=65955.0 ; :(  Looks like I'll need to re-flash my bootloader.  FYI, DON'T try this example sketch on your ArduPilot board."

Vernon commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Arduino debugging tips
"If on the ArduPilot board the status (yellow) light keeps blinking, and while trying to upload code you get the following error:  avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding   Did I perhaps corrupt my boot loader?  It was…"

Vernon replied to Scott Bingham's discussion Can someone provide a known good PID configurations for xplane?
"Ok.  Try try again.  I've got X-Plane v9.7 (DVD) Mission Planner version 1.0.62 and APM 2.23 HIL firmware loaded.  Clicked connect, APM Setup, reset APM to default, Radio Input -> Calibrate Radio -> save, Modes -> Save…"

Vernon replied to Scott Bingham's discussion Can someone provide a known good PID configurations for xplane?
"Well I've tried several things.   1- on the same machine.  Linux or win7 seems to do the same thing.  When I run both on the same machine I'm using my Quad Core 2.8Ghz machine with a  NVidia 9800GTX.  (Both X-Plane…"

Vernon replied to Scott Bingham's discussion Can someone provide a known good PID configurations for xplane?
"Bleep!  I think I've tried everything about 5 times or more.  With almost the same results.  If you happen to be curious, check out my blur-cam shot of the imu information from Mission Planner while the plane sits on the runway…"

Vernon replied to Scott Bingham's discussion Can someone provide a known good PID configurations for xplane?
"I know it sounds like I didn't do the radio calibration,  but unless I missed something, I believe I followed the instructions.     Here is what I did, am I missing anything? 1 - Load the Mission Planner software 2 - Load the APM…"
