Should the latest be used?

So I guess 2.7 is the latest Ardupilot software. For a first-time user is it 'best' to use the latest? Or should I start with a tried-and-true version that may not have the latest add on?Continue

Just so I can kind of "get my arms around" adding UAV to an existing RC plane, could someone make a kind of master list as to what else is needed?I fly RC planes and helis and am currently fooling…Continue

ArduPilot Shield Pitot Tube

I'm building my UAV airframe this weekend and I need to install the active pitot tube in the wing but my ArduPilot Shield kit hasn't arrived yet. It appears that the active tube is just a plain tube connected to the Shield by fuel tubing. Can someone please let me know the ID of the active pitot tube? Thanks,BillSee More

"Need to see your header file to answer definitively. imu_health is only defined when you use a IMU #define GPS_PROTOCOL 3 If you don't have an IMU connected, don't run test 6 - the IMU test. Jason"

Profile Information

About Me:
I'm an R/Cer - cars, planes and helis, but mainly helis. I fly a Trex 450, JR Vibe 90, Hirorbo Freya w/D3 head and an EVO 50. The EVO 50 and Trex 450 are FBL and I use a 9303/2.4.

I'm a Technical Services Manager for a liquid handling instrument manufacturer and I still enjoy playing WoW.
Tell us a bit about your UAV interest
I recently bought an Arduino and just got an Ardubot to run around and do things and came across this website. Being an R/Cer with Arduino interest, UAV flight is intriging. (9/2010 update: I just bought a Hobbico Hobistar 60 MK III for my UAV platform). (10/2/2010 update: The Hobistar is built. Need to trim it out in flight but it's been too hot. Once trimmed the UAV avionics will be installed. Then the fun will begin!). 1/15/2011 update. What a drag. The Hobbistar had a great maiden flight. Two days later the wing came off in flight. The wing is OK. Other than that, we have to start over.
