Chris, Nice looking board. I agree with Jani i would take the gps externally make the board a bit smaller and add usb for easy programing.

Yes, but if a regular ESC fail you only have to replace one which will obviously cost you less.

It's very simple, if you can get hold of a old ball mouse inside is a optical pickup an a wheel with all the electronics, you just have to apply 5V If you turn the wheel you get a increase in frequency It should be easy to translate that to RPM…

Yes ordered the stuff from Sparkfun, payed Vat like normal, took about 2 weeks on delivery here. I got a stateside address so my stuff goes there first and when I'm ready I ship it via courier. Got 10Kg's off stuff in yesterday and the shipping was R 3000.00. Normally with smal shipme nts its about R500.00
