Thanks Doug! I am going to have to come up with something. Still in the design stage of the aircraft, considering my auto pilot options.
The ultimate aerospace accomplishment. Time to hang up my transmitter & go into refinancing or move to Canadia.
Thanks for the input so far. The vertical component would be nose up. I think I will have to research into this more, programming and electronics are not a strength for me. Any idea how difficult it is to edit the code?
Question re: Ardupilot 2.3:
In the features section about it is stated; "Four RC-in channels (plus the autopilot on/off channel) can be processed by the autopilot. Autopilot can also control four channels out."

Thanks, thats what i have been thinking too. Will definitely have to run some tests.
It may. I think most of the control code could be transposed for a vertical flight. Speed sensor is there, flight correction should be on 2 roll/pitch axes and correction based on GPS XY location and why not the "standard" XY thermopile sensor. GPS…
Thanks! I have flown a few flights with it so far with no problems. Only one incident of breaking off the stinger mounts due to long grass ripping it off. Going to add small parkflyer type wheels soon.
Here is the system I used, utilizing a sub micro servo to actuate the shutter button. Works well, self titled the "Orion 1.1 / 1.2" system. Works well on the Parkzone Radian electric sailplane.
