HY-SRF05 Ultrasonic Sensor

I would like to know has anyone tried to use the HY-SRF05 ultrasonic sensor to read the reading using the one pin method ?I have tried using the ping sample code in the Arduino IDE and have connect the trigger pin to digital pin 7 and echo pin to GND and all I get from the serial terminal is 0. Is this HY-SRF05 different from the  …See More

Hi! I'm rather new to FPV. I'm actually interested in using an FPV camera for Kite Aerial Photography. Do you have any tutorial links that teaches you how to link the camera to the wireless transmitter? Thanks!

I have been using ABS plastic sheet for many of my UAV designs for a couple of years now and it cuts great on the laser.  It does stink though when cutting, so I would recommend using a carbon filter for the exhaust. It cuts great and is quite…

I just built a quad design with fiberglass and resin- worked great. Completely hollow- all electronics and batteries safely inside. Mounted ArduPilot on spongey foam. Very light, very tough, slightly flexible.

If you are not restriced to a laser cutter and can use a router to cut, and if it is possible to get sheets of Polyamide reinforced with glass fiber in your surroundings, I think this will be a good choise.   Its pretty light, the nylon gives…

I think my school also allows the use of PETG on their laser cutters, so I might give that a try. I'm fairly certain they've banned delrin, polycarbonate, and ABS, among other materials, so my options are fairly limited, unless I want to…

I think when it comes straight down to it, your materials selection is a major part of your chassis design. Right now, I can name two design styles for quadrotors and similar rotorcraft: rigid and semi-rigid. Both suggest the way that the arms are…

Aluminum is cheap and easy to work with.  You can even weld it which I really like. :)  I just welded up a T-tail for my heli last night.  The biggest problem with aluminum will be that it can bend without breaking.  Sounds like…

They also have 1/8" acrylic sheets. I'm worried about the impact resistance of thin acrylic sheets though.

well... did you think of something like... Aluminium? :) this all depends on the size of your quadrotor, a small one can almost be out of any material, because you will not have any great forces working there when it comes to bigger quadrotors you…

Acrylic is probably the lightest, and great tensile strength, but poor impact strength. PETG/Polycarbonate is close to the same density and definitely superior (much better impact strength) for a little more cost, the others are a bit heavier.…
