"Can aerial platforms be sufficiently stabilized for LOS communication?" I would say under 20KUSD precision 5-10 degrees. Military maybe 0.1-1degree but AT BEST 50% of the time. Completely not suited for RONJA. Even if blimp-based.

A tethered blimp with a stabilized gimble is the way to go.

Stable Aerial Platform For LOS (Optical) Communication

Although I've been monitoring this website for a couple of years, I've refrained from joining because I simply don't have much time to participate in these projects. Here's a major problem of mine which I need to overcome and the problem involves creating a stable aerial platform above the tree line for LOS communication.
