Hi, I’m in the planning stage of an ambitious project to create a website of high-resolution 3D maps of some of Colorado’s highest peaks: the 14ers. The 14ers are the 53 peaks, scattered around the state, with an elevation over 14,000’. The best maps currently available are the standard USGS topographic maps.…Continue
Just found this nice product. There are 2 versions, the Flatmap 1 and Flatmap 2.
For some reason, the FM1 has 2 axis, and the FM2 has 1 axis.
The site says they are for fixed wing, but looks like it could be…Continue
Over Thanksgiving, I planned to map out a bayou in north Louisiana, and use it as a teaching moment for high school students involved in the Drones for Schools program back in central Illinois.
Due to issues with configuration and calibration, the mission didn't go according to plan, and I didn't end up with a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of…
Recently Lianpin Koh suggest to me to try out the Microsoft ICE. It is an advanced panoramic image stitcher. The best part : It's a freeware.
Being just completed to map 20000 Ha of oil palm land for a local plantation, I…Continue
So it`s been just a bit more than a year and a half since we first offered the Aeromaper UAV platform and we have seen the Aeromapper evolve significantly.
Since we introduced the Aeromapper Option E it has been a great success because it is a complete package with excellent features on it,…Continue

Because the latter one of condor drone tests went very well in the navigation, I decided to mount the camera aboard the condor photography for mapping and the results appear promising.
Geologists have long used seismology on the bottom of the ocean or have been throwing dynamite from snowmobiles when they look for oil. But now researchers at…

Good evening to All.
The fifteen plus years of my involvement with airmodelling, has sometimes brought me in strange paths, mysterious driveways, beautiful agony. The journey to Ithaca continues with great passion for research, construction, testing new technologies. In this journey I meet people who inspire me, support me, eventually becoming ... Friends…Continue
We definitely trust the APM a LOT! So we decided to create another version of our…Continue
After a few months of trial and error, I finally figure out the basic of aerial mapping. Blessed with good weather two days ago, I took out my Skywalker 1900, APM 2 equip with Canon S100 to a near by oil palm estate own by a friend. The Skywalker with my current param track extremely well even in strong cross wind condition.
The total flight time is about 30 minutes from take off to landing covering 320 Ha of land at 300 meter altitude. The cross line distance is…Continue
Geo-tagged aerial pictures are very useful for mosaic mapping as well as the creation of accurate 3D models from a terrain.
Michael Oborne added a great tool for injecting GPS data on the EXIF tags by using APM's telemetry log from a flight.
This tutorial was…
Just sharing that the Aeromapper UAV is now ready to order with the new parachute recovery system.
Will very briefly describe a typical mission sequence so the basic setup of parachute + APM2.5 is explained (at the end). We think simplicity is king:
1. Assuming flight mission…Continue
A couple months ago we announced the Aeromapper UAV: a versatile all-composite, low cost UAV mainly aimed for mapping applications, but also being used as a multipurpose UAV platform for its great versatility, performance and great internal volume for different payloads.
It is offered in 3 different options: as a kit, as a RTF with all the…
just sharing the latest video of the Aeromapper UAV platform in action.
Feel free to comment and share. Your comments and questions are always very appreciated!
Pretty soon we expect to finsh integration and testing of the APM2.0 on the airplane and will do photomapping non stop both for testing and work. Will share results and…Continue
