Hi! I just want to inform you that there is a very good progress in the german forum here:
http://fpv-community.de/showthread.php?19252-Brushless-Gimbal-Contr...
and here:
http://fpv-community.de/showthread.php?15899-Brushless-Direct-Drive...
concerning the brushless gimbal that was originally kicked off by Alexmos.

Comment by Jethro Hazelhurst on December 26, 2012 at 10:57am Very cool! Looks like it is very stable!
Comment by Crashpilot1000 on December 26, 2012 at 11:13am Yes, i am also very excited about their progress! And the best thing is they publish all their code/schematics etc.
(like this http://fpv-community.de/showthread.php?15899-Brushless-Direct-Drive...)
I think this could get some people here started to improve things. I am not involved in the project but i think more brains can do more. Thats why i posted it here.
Community pushes things ahead.
Cheers

Comment by Jani on December 26, 2012 at 1:10pm Hi,
I want to say big thank you to you and all developers from fvp-community forum and of course Alexmos and other russians who have done huge work also! :) I've been following some time your work with google translator and at the same time trying to get my own project forward.
At the moment i have some serious troubles with code as i'm not sure which control method is the best and how to code it properly.
Keep up the good work!
Regards Jani

Comment by Simon on December 27, 2012 at 6:35am This looks extremely usefull for long range antenna trackers. We have problems with r/c servos and large antennas due to weight and wind.
Comment by cholo on December 27, 2012 at 7:21am heh, I've done some tests with the brushless motor too (pass: emax):
Comment by Flying Monkey on December 27, 2012 at 12:12pm Subscribed! Is there a way to get all those pages translated... translated better than the google translater? I'd really like to learn more, but some of the terminalogy and etc are above my current understanding... filtering this from the incorrectly translated parts is difficult!
Onward and upward!
Comment by Crashpilot1000 on December 27, 2012 at 12:29pm Perhaps you can ask in the forum to outline the key facts of their current findings/progress in English. I am sure they will do that.
BTW: They have prototypes available now - going out to community testers: http://fpv-community.de/showthread.php?19252-Brushless-Gimbal-Contr...

I dunno, the performance in the video posted is nothing to write home about, IMO.

No, not at all. The BLDC motors have almost zero torque.
BLDC's are interesting technology, but they have a very specific use-case.
