  • "Better than TED" @Jack Crossfire

    It Interesting to compare.

IMHO these events have just different target and audience.

    http://www.ted.com/talks/vijay_kumar_robots_that_fly_and_cooperate....

What's bit funny - Raffaello talk something like a "smart environment" and never use the term "robot", Kumar talk about "flying beachballs" and said "robot" 100.000 times. =)

Also, there are differences in the projects themselves

    ETZH work funded FP7 program.

SO it's more complicated academic research, and not only purely applied.

Perhaps this will lead to a difference in the final results, but most likely result will be a synthesis of the various developments projects - both academic and applied research.

  • Any lecture that requires a safety net -- is almost guaranteed to be interesting.

  • Yup, I loved it too.  Nice job.

  • Developer

Best video I have seen in ages, with actual in depth talk about the topic. Much, much better then the dumbed down TED format.

  • Remarkable presentation, and informative for many audiences. Not too hard to envision apples in apple orchards being picked some day, placed carefully in a container, then a group gets together and flies the container to a warehouse. Thanks for posting.

  • Fantastic demonstration of feedbackmechanisms.  His closing comments are spot on.  I for one am convinced that the developments are coming and we must learn to mitigate and manage what we create.  The same can be said of other technologies like genetics.   I advocate for production improvements and civil/social upsides of the technology.

  • Thanks for posting, didn't realize this didn't make it to DIYDrones. -sergei

  • Better than TED.

  • I've got to build myself one of those airbot-hammocks. That's a great way to lounge.
